A workshop zooming in on the apocalypse of plastic pollution in our oceans. The workshop combines realistic drawing and creative writing. We trace back one piece of the marine litter to its origins: Drawing the specimen from all angles, recording damage, weathering, signs of manufacturing, and any signs that can give us hints of the origin of the object. Like archeologists we collect data. After that we combine these facts with fiction. The result will be a coherent narrative of how a piece of marine litter can end up in our oceans.
“I have been conducting this workshop with children as young as primary all the way up to university students and corporates. It is an effective and fun way to make us think about the life-cycle of products, about plastic and about our own consumerist habits. Creativity opens up the space to investigate, to rethink and most importantly to reimagine and find solutions.”
